During the conference, Jean-Michel Bertrand, professor in luxury and brand communication at the French Institute of Fashion and aesthetics and film analysis at the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris, discussed the special relationship between cinema and fashion.

 

Fashion has become an asset to sublimate the body of stars, the objects of our dreams and desires.

 

What topics were discussed during the “Cinema & Fashion” conference?

 

Cinema and fashion have essentially maintained a close relationship since the early days.

 

To begin, it brought fashion trends to the mainstream and popularised their spread. But it also gave way to new and unknown ways of living and conversing. It also and predominantly dressed actresses and actors. It bestowed a historical, psychological or dramatic role to the piece of clothing or “look”.
