This event has already taken place.

As part of the exhibition Just Married, a story of marriage, Olivia Luce Meyer, exhibition curator and professor of the history and sociology of costume and fashion at ESMOD IS M in Paris, has returned for an exhibition on the history of wedding dresses.

What topics were discussed during the conference “MEMORY OF AN EMOTIONAL DRESS”?

During this conference, Olivia Luce Meyer explored the most unexpected facets of the wedding dress and meandered through our cultural heritage. Driven by fantasy and a vision of a status built by the collective imagination, weddings transport us to the boundaries of traditions and contemporary desires.

A fascinating encounter between aesthetic and moral symbols. A timeless dialogue between traditional outfits and personal outfits: the wedding dress.

Olivia Luce Meyer also teaches costume design.

The conference Memory of an emotional dress was held in Brussels on Thursday 9 February 2017.
